ʻĀina Provide Learning Academy

Making education relevant

ʻĀina Provide Learning Academy originally started as an online ʻāina-based classes and learning material online- during a time that demanded educators and parents to adapt to rapidly changing school dynamics. Now, APLA provides project and service based learning and stewardship opportunities to foster robust relationships between ʻāina and the next generation of community leaders.

Curriculum designed for the future.

APLA Curriculum is aligned with New Generation Science Standards and meets Hawaii Department of Education core curriculum standards.

Extensive lesson plans developed with a focus on ʻāina and Hawaiian culture ensure our learning platform remains a quality education alternative and model for the Kona community.

Education Reform

It is time for new systems to emerge, and if you have found us, you probably already knew that. Research provided in a civil beat article by the Board of Education indicates an increase in families opting out of the public education system and transferring to private or home school. Private schools are expensive and homeschooling is a tremendous learning curve that requires a much time and commitment from already busy, working parents. Our mission is to provide meaningful learning experiences that foster personal relationships with place; help children understand themselves as a part of nature; attain skills, knowledge and confidence that will allow them to overcome obstacles; and inspire them to participate in and contribute to all aspects of life.

Strengthening Kona’s Community by investing in our children.
